During my stay at Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa, I was impressed by several aspects that made my experience truly memorable. One of these was the natural pool, which was an absolute delight to swim in. The water was crystal clear and chemical-free, which made for a refreshing and rejuvenating swim.
As a vegetarian, I was pleased to discover that the hotel’s restaurant had a delicious vegetarian menu, featuring a variety of locally-sourced produce. The chefs created innovative and flavorful dishes that catered to my dietary preferences without sacrificing taste or variety. I particularly enjoyed the locally-sourced vegetables and the homemade hummus.
In terms of spa treatments, the eye care treatment was a unique and unexpected delight. As someone who spends a lot of time in front of a screen, my eyes often feel tired and strained. The treatment, which involved a soothing massage and a gentle collagen compress, left my eyes feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
I stayed in the junior suite with a view, which was simply stunning. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and boasted a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of hiking the nearby area (see pic of Eric below).
In addition to that, Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa also offers a range of activities to help guests unwind and rejuvenate. My favorite was the Saunas! The Outside Spa has two wonderful Saunas of 90° and 110°. This is where I recharge my batteries and meditate. After a Sauna, there’s nothing better than jumping into the cold natural pool or feeling the waterfall’s water on my skin.
One such activity is the bowl sound healing meditation, which I had the pleasure of experiencing during my stay. This was a truly unique and immersive experience that left me feeling deeply relaxed and centered. The therapist used a variety of Tibetan singing bowls to create a mesmerizing and soothing sound bath, which helped to calm my mind and release tensions from my body.
One more thing that I appreciated about Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa was the sense of calm that pervaded the entire property. From the tranquil natural pool to the serene spa, everything was designed to promote relaxation and wellness. Even the decor of the hotel was calming, with muted colors and natural materials that created a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and unwind in a tranquil environment.
Overall, my stay at Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa was an exceptional experience. The natural pool, vegetarian menu, Eye care treatment, and Junior Suite with a view were just some of the highlights that made my stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in the heart of the Black Forest!
