During my stay at Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa, I was impressed by several aspects that made my experience truly memorable. One of these was the natural pool, which was an absolute delight to swim in. The water was crystal clear and chemical-free, which made for a refreshing and rejuvenating swim.

As a vegetarian, I was pleased to discover that the hotel’s restaurant had a delicious vegetarian menu, featuring a variety of locally-sourced produce. The chefs created innovative and flavorful dishes that catered to my dietary preferences without sacrificing taste or variety. I particularly enjoyed the locally-sourced vegetables and the homemade hummus.

In terms of spa treatments, the eye care treatment was a unique and unexpected delight. As someone who spends a lot of time in front of a screen, my eyes often feel tired and strained. The treatment, which involved a soothing massage and a gentle collagen compress, left my eyes feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

I stayed in the junior suite with a view, which was simply stunning. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and boasted a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of hiking the nearby area (see pic of Eric below).

In addition to that, Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa also offers a range of activities to help guests unwind and rejuvenate. My favorite was the Saunas! The Outside Spa has two wonderful Saunas of 90° and 110°. This is where I recharge my batteries and meditate. After a Sauna, there’s nothing better than jumping into the cold natural pool or feeling the waterfall’s water on my skin.

One such activity is the bowl sound healing meditation, which I had the pleasure of experiencing during my stay. This was a truly unique and immersive experience that left me feeling deeply relaxed and centered. The therapist used a variety of Tibetan singing bowls to create a mesmerizing and soothing sound bath, which helped to calm my mind and release tensions from my body.

One more thing that I appreciated about Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa was the sense of calm that pervaded the entire property. From the tranquil natural pool to the serene spa, everything was designed to promote relaxation and wellness. Even the decor of the hotel was calming, with muted colors and natural materials that created a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and unwind in a tranquil environment.

Overall, my stay at Engel Obertal Hotel & Spa was an exceptional experience. The natural pool, vegetarian menu, Eye care treatment, and Junior Suite with a view were just some of the highlights that made my stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in the heart of the Black Forest!

Nestled in the Alpin Mountains, this place is a paradise for those who love skiing. Which is not my case! But, even though I don’t ski, I love this place so much. This mean, you will love it too!

We were welcomed in Arosa by a delighful and warm sunlight, the view from our Suite was wonderful: the Alps covered by the snow and a soft winter sun.

We immediately took the elevator, down to the Alpin Spa!

Because we arrived upon the Grand opening of Arosa Kulm, we had the chance to enjoy the Alpin Spa just for ourselves.

The view left of speechless, the peaceful nature around us, and the sky falling down. The Spa has many different options: pool, jacuzzi, saunas, hammam, places to relax.

After a relax moment at the Alpin Spa, we spent our first night at the Taverna and had italian food options!

The cookers spoke italian, we are on good hands for some parpadelles with mushrooms!

When the night gets cold, the fireplace waits for you before a good night sleep.

On our second day, the sun was shining again when we woke up. We were debating between having breakfast on our huge Suite’s terrace or going down to the restaurant.

We get dressed and decided to try the 1988 restaurant at breakfast. The choice here is incredible! No doubt we are the Relais & Chateaux! Everything you wish to eat or drink is here.

We had a big brunch before heading to a hike in the snow.

Our second day went the same than the first one. After our little hike we headed to the spa again and tried the Thai restaurant which was definitely our favorite! It’s very convenient to have so much variety of food

Arosa Kulm is such a beautiful place to spend quality time together, highly recommended!

PRIVAT HOTEL ZÜRICH

Neues Schloss is a little gem in the middle of Zurich city and just a steps away from Zurich Lake.

Neues Schloss counts 57 elegant guest rooms and suites, some with balconies, an exceptional interior design full of unique art objects. We had the chance to spend our week-end in a spacious Suite, with a huge Balcony!

The hotel leaves us some delicates attentions: bubbles & chocolate welcomed us.

It was almost dark already when we arrived, the night falls down early during winter in Switzerland so after enjoying our welcome drinks in the room we got ready for a dinner.

The were very lucky to be able to try the Castellan’s. This Swiss Location Award winning restaurant melts the cuisine of Southern Europe with the culinary diversity of Zurich, and the plus is that it is located inside the Neues Schloss Hotel. That means we can go directly from our room to our reserved table.

And what a table! We had a private space, just for the two of us.

And it is time for a good night sleep in our big bed!

I love staying in my room in the morning, enjoying a coffee in a comfortable bathrobe and watch the world pass by the window…

But breakfast’s calling! The Castellan’s restaurant also offer breakfast. Each morning, and until 12pm during the week-end in this festive time, you can enjoy a buffet and also A la carte breakfast.

The atmosphere is very cosy, this is an ideal place to come enjoy a coffee while working on your computer as well!

Another place we loved a lot and which is also the perfect place to chill or work remotely is the lounge. Here you can enjoy a cup a coffee all day long and, when the night falls, the hotel serves some aperitif with pop corns!

We still can’t get enough of this view and wished our stay was longer! Already looking forward to visit Neues Schloss again, hopefully in summer 🙂

If you like clear waters, island life and design, Maldives is simply a must.

For my second time in Maldives, I had only a short 3-night stay before heading to Sri Lanka for a 2-weeks road trip.

The Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru just opened its doors a few weeks before my trip. Everything there was just brand new.

The Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru has 5 different types of accommodations, I had the chance to try two of those. After a sea plane ride from Male international airport to the island, we headed to our first home.

BEACH POOL SUITE SUNSET

We stayed 1 night in a beach pool suite sunset:

This beach 190m² villa is facing the sea with direct beach access surrounded by tropical gardens. It has a private Sala on the upper level (9 m²) from where you can watch the sunset and a plunge pool on ground level, just a few steps away from the white sandy beach.

OVERWATER POOL VILLA LAGOON

On the second day on the island I had the chance to experience the overwater pool villa Lagoon.

Located above the turquoise lagoon, our over water villas with see-through floors offer lagoon views.

I only needed to slide the glass doors to step into the overwater infinity-edge pool, lay on the overwater net.

This villa has the particularity to have the sunrise only because of its West exposure. This is a good reason to wake up everyday at 5am and enjoy this beautiful moment.

Plus, the sea species are always ready to come and say hi at this time of the day! Right after my coffee with a view, I jumped into the water and managed to see some fishes, rays and sharks, directly under my villa.

The good part of staying in the overwater lagoon villa is obviously the option to jump directly into the lagoon from our terrace: the lagoon water is the clearest of the island. Staying on the pool watching the whole scenery is fascinating as well.

If you are lucky enough, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful sunset from your villa too, because the sky’s colors are spreading all over the island…

What I enjoyed the most in the overwater pool villa lagoon was its spacious and well designed bathroom. It was such a pleasure to relax in the large bathtub with the lagoon’s view.
