I visited Ephesus twice already, but it was always at the wrong time of the day : 11am/1pm, terrible light and so many people! With Eric, we decided to enter the site at 4pm and stay until sunset!

If you’re travelling by yourself, without a tour operator, this is definitely the best choice ever! Why? First, because it will be way less crowded! Most people comes here with a group tour from Turkey’s coastline or from a cruise ship. They usually arrive at 10am and leave in the middle of the afternoon, but this is just the moment you will arrive

The air becomes cooler, especially if you’re travelling in summer as we did, temperatures sometimes rises up to 45°C in the hottest part of the day! And the most important, the light becomes softer…

When entering Ephesus at 4pm, you have about 3 hours to enjoy the site. For us it is enough time to both visit quietly and catch some shots! We took the option the visit the terrace houses, it was not my favourite part but still interesting to see!

Of course, what makes Ephesus so famous through the world and one of the most visited places in Turkey is its spectacular library! 

It was my third time here and I was still very impressed!

We tried to catch some different angles and play with the light!

The more the sun goes down, the less people you will see… We lost ourselves into the alleys, it felt like time had stopped…

But, time hadn’t stopped! At 7pm, the guard kindly reminded us it was time to leave! As usual, we were taking pictures, but the last rays of sun were so worth it !

South Tyrol is only 5 hours drive from my home town!

But I’ve never been there until September 2018!

Now, the only thing is want is to go back! Because 3 days were definitely not enough to visit all the beauties that this here has to offer!

The aim of the trip was to go to see the famous Lago di Braies.

But before that we stayed at the amazing Preidlhof Dolce vita resort.

Dolce vita? I think this word is maybe not strong enough to describe this resort!!!

I feel like I am still not able to find the words to describe this place! This hotel was just one of the best hotel I’ve been during my whole life!!! 

I can’t say if it comes from the warm welcomes that we had or this sooo huge penthouse where we stayed or maybe all these never ending spas and pools that we discovered every hour!

What I can say now it that in 3 days we didn’t have time to explore and try all the facilites that this 5 stars hotel has to offer!

So after 5 hours driving through magical Swiss landscapes we left our car at Preidlhof entrance and almost stopped thinking! (well, you could do it maybe, because I can’t! My mind is constantly looking for the best photography spot!)

We were welcoming by a glass of Prosseco and some delicious italian appetizers.

IIt would take me hours and hours to describes all the details of every rooms, but what I can say it that the lobby was already stunning (crystals, fireplaces, velvet sofas…)

After finishing our drinks our majordome escort us to our penthouse.

Ok, this was, with any doubt, the craziest « hotel room » of my life!!!

Huge living room, 2 bedrooms, A beautiful bathroom…

You would say that’s normal. but the room is 150m2!!! with its own  fitness area!

Then, the terrace of 250m2 has it’s own a Sauna,  jacuzzi , next to a charming fireplace, and, our own heated pool !!!

This penthouse is completely unbelievable !!!

We could have spent 1 entire week without going out of this room!

The view from the terrace is amazing! And since pictures are definitely better than words, here we go!

We stayed the whole day in our room, enjoying every facilites and discovering a new one every second until this beautiful sunset!

At 8pm, our majordome came to pick us to the diner!

once Again, wow!!!

The day after, we decide to explore the Resort.

We started our day at 7am at the mediterranean pool.

While waiting for the sun to went up we stayed warm in a jacuzzi on the panoramic gardens.

Sunddenly the sun came up so we run to the pool again! The spectacle was unreal.

The pool is 32°, and the air was fresh in the morning (around 8°)

The sun was coming through the smoke, and it was magical

At 9 o’clock we were really hungry so we went to enjoy our in room breakfast on our private terrace next to the jacuzzi of our suite.

The weather was so cool (I discover that domolites are famous to be sunny with more than 300 days of sun per year!)

We spent all the afternoon exploring the resort which has:

5 pools, 

2 spas…..

After 3 days and 2 nights in this paradise, we didn’t want to leave.

The lago di Braies was not far away but still 2 hours drive.

So we took our car again and cross the mountains until we reach our final point.

We arrived at the lake at 12o’clock.

To be honest, I would not remand to sleep so far from the lake if the only aim of your trip is to go to the lake!

For us, it was a magical experience! But if you appreciate these two options, i’ll recommande you to take more days or to make it seperatly!

When we arrived at the lake it was already to bright and too crowded!

I would never imagine that so many people re going to this lake every day!!!

Ok, on my pcitures, there’s nobody (because we get closer to the lake) but there are many people!

The lake definite deserves it fame, the landscape is stunning and the water is deeply turquoise blue and so clear (and cold ^^)

Unfortunately, the day we went there, they were making a movie on the lake’s cabana.

It was not possible to go up and the wood house and not possible to take a boat.

Well, I have to go back!

But one thing is sure, I will go back to the Preidlhof hotel!!!
